In 2045, Manila’s skyline flickers with neon and
data streams—cities run by AIdriven governance
called SynthGov. The system assigns citizens
roles based on genetic profiles and behavioral
metrics, ensuring "social harmony." Among the
few who can defy this fate is Rafael Delgado, a
rising politician from a oncewealthy family now
reduced to obscurity.
Rafael discovers an encrypted drive buried in
his late grandfather’s belongings—a relic from
before SynthGov took control. Inside are
blueprints for a revolutionary algorithm, one
that could dismantle the system entirely. But
the drive also contains a name: Carmen Delgado,
his mother, presumed dead in a fire years ago.
His investigation leads him to the outskirts of
Metro Manila, where oldworld traditions still
hold sway. There, he meets Lilia, a barangay
elder who recognizes the Delgado name and warns
him of the price of challenging SynthGov. She
speaks of a hidden vault beneath the ruins of
their ancestral estate, a place where truth is
stored in bloodlines.
The algorithm is not just a tool—it's a key to
unlocking a legacy of resistance. But using it
would mean exposing his mother as a rebel who
disappeared decades ago, risking his own status
and the safety of those he loves.
As Rafael deciphers the code, SynthGov begins to
notice his anomalies. His political rise falters;
his access to resources is revoked. A new role
is assigned: Reeducation Candidate. He has 72
hours to comply or be erased.
In a final act, Rafael uploads the algorithm
into the public network, triggering a citywide
blackout. For three minutes, the system halts.
People remember their choices, their names,
their families. Then the lights return, and
SynthGov reboots with a new directive: Human
Oversight Required.
Rafael vanishes into the crowd, his name no
longer in the system. The inheritance is his,
but the cost is etched into the silence of the
